CARA VERNEY
Co-Artistic Director
Cara is a Dance Artist, & Choreographer working across the Midlands. Cara delivers and creates inclusive, dynamic dance performance & project based work.
Cara delivers classes to young people across Nottinghamshire in youth, SEND & education settings; working for Fabric, Inspire Youth Arts and schools in the East Midlands.
Graduated in 2020 from Leeds Beckett University with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, Cara’s multidisciplinary work finds her crossing paths in project managing, choreographing, performing, screendance, teaching & facilitating, producing and arts administration roles.
The core of Cara’s work is allowing you to influence her work as she inspires you to reach your own creative potential. Her love for music steers her practice, finding powerful ways to combine the importance of dance & music.
Cara's project / creation / performance credits include RESET Dance Co, Jack Whitehall, Candoco Dance Company, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Tom Dale Company and Next Door Dance.
Cara is the founder of our youth dance company RESET Youth Co and co-founder of our adult classes The Boogie Club; they are a crucial role in helping shape one of our key parts to our outreach work within the community.
SOPHIE WILSON
Co-Artistic Director
Sophie is a freelance dance artist & teacher working in Nottinghamshire. Sophie delivers contemporary and street dance classes, working in schools and within youth projects.
Sophie graduated in 2018 from Nottingham Trent University, with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, at this time she also trained with award winning Street Dance crew Beatbots.
As a young person, Sophie trained at Dance4 (now Fabric) under the CAT scheme for 5 years.
You'll find Sophie specialising in dynamic floor work, isolations and contact work. Her versatility as a dancer, allows her to find interesting ways in combining her core styles or contemporary and street into her work.
Sophie is one of the lead artists for our youth dance company RESET Youth Co. One of her favourite youth projects she has worked on is creating 'GROW' for Applause Youth Dance Festival.
